Tamang Heritage Trek is one of the unique and cultural trekking trails through vibrant Tamang Villages in Lantang, which lies in the northern part of Kathmandu near Langtang National Park. Tamang Heritage Trekking trail is the perfect way of enjoying your life with awesome memories that offer you to experience untouched natural beauty, traditional cultures, Buddhist way of living, experiencing their genuine warmth and welcome, wilderness experience, the rich architecture of their mountain house, ancient monasteries and beautiful landscape of alpine terrain. Not only that, it also offers Natural Hot Spring, the picturesque village of Gatlang with its people’s traditional dresses and typical dances, wildlife around the secret lake of Parbati Kund, excellent view of Snow-capped Mountains and a stroll along Rasuwa Gadi another form of the famous Chinese wall. You have a great view of mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Dorge Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Palder Peak, Manaslu Himal, Tibetan mountains and other wonderful peaks.

Tamang Heritage Trail is one of the most accessible trekking trails in Nepal which let you have a real experience of the most beautiful scenery in the country such as; some of the amazing peaks of the Langtang Himalayas, thick forest, green farmland, close to Tibetan border and many more. Tamang Heritage trail rout offers you rural landscape with massive vistas of the Langtang region. In this region, almost all people are heavily influenced by the Tibetan culture as they follow Tibetan lifestyle which provides you chances to encounter with Tamang culture and traditions of remote areas people.

Tamang Heritage Trek begins from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal with exploring major UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We officially start our trek from Syabrubesi into the Himalayans region. Throughout our journey, we will be rewarded with a panorama of great Himalayan, scenic surrounding, various ethnic culture and tradition, numerous flora and fauna and many more.

Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu

Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing.

Day 3 : Kathmandu - Syabrubesi Syabru Bensi (1450m approx.). 9 hours’ drive

Day 4 : Syabrubesi - Gatlang/2238m. Walk approx. 5 hrs

Day 5 : Gatlang – Tatopani/2607m; Walk approx. 5-6 hrs

Day 6 : Tatopani – Nagthali/3165 – Thuman/2338m. Walk approx. 7-8 hrs

Day 7 : Thuman – Bridim/ 2229m.

Day 8 : Bridim to Syabrubesi (1450m).

Day 9 : Drive Back Kathmandu/1300m

Day 10 : Final Destination.

Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu

As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will be received by our representative and he/she will drop you at your hotel in Kathmandu where you can take a rest and be fresh. In the evening, tour guide export will provide you a brief explanation about the trek. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing.

Today in the morning, after having breakfast, we will manage you to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. They are; Pashupatinath, a sacred site for Hindu and Buddhists, Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square, the largest Boudhanath Stupa, and Syambhunath Temple also called as Monkey temple. You can also visit extensive markets, novelty and handicraft shop, excellent bookshop and many more in the tourist hub Thamel. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 3 : Kathmandu - Syabrubesi Syabru Bensi (1450m approx.). 9 hours’ drive

In this day, early in the morning after having breakfast, we will officially begin our trekking. We will drive north from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi through the Trisuli River. Around 9 hours’ drive takes you to the beautiful village Sybrubesi. Overnight at Syabrubesi.


Day 4 : Syabrubesi - Gatlang/2238m. Walk approx. 5 hrs

Next morning, after having breakfast, we will continue our pleasing trek. After around 2 to 3 hours ascend trek leads you to the viewpoint from where you can view fantastic Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Gosainkunda range and many more. Again, we will trek down to Golijang valley and Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village which situated on a hillside among the terraced fields. You will witness numerous Buddhist chortens and Mani Wall during your trail to Gatlang. Overnight at Gatlang.


Day 5 : Gatlang – Tatopani/2607m; Walk approx. 5-6 hrs

Today, we will begin our trek by descending to Tatopani which is located at the altitude of 2607m. You will witness Chilime Village by the Bhotekosi River, where you can see Chilime Hydropower dam and continue the trail to ascend through the small hanging bridge. The further trail leads you to Tatopani, very famous place. Tatopani literally means “hot water” where people believe that once you bath in that hot water it will ease your aches and pains. Hot water has a healing quality and can clean in the natural hot springs. After exploring Tatopani, you will stay Overnight at Tatopani.


Day 6 : Tatopani – Nagthali/3165 – Thuman/2338m. Walk approx. 7-8 hrs

Today, early in the morning after having breakfast, we will begin our trek upwards to Nagthali which is located at the elevations of 3165m. Nagthali is a very popular place for meditation center for the local monks and priests. It is also considered as the highest pass of the area from where you can see panoramic views of snow-covered Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Kerung and Sanjen ranges. The further downward trail takes you to a heavily Tibetan influenced Tamang Village called Thuman where you can explore ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings and you can enjoy and make an unforgettable experience over there. Overnight at Thuman.


Day 7 : Thuman – Bridim/ 2229m.

Next morning, after early breakfast, we will depart Thuman and heads towards Bridim through the beautiful rhododendron forests and meadows. We will also pass Tamang community located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal, where you can see amazing around 43 houses made of stone and roofs of split shake in the same style. Overnight at Bridim.


Day 8 : Bridim to Syabrubesi (1450m).

It is your last destination of trekking trail, after exploring the Bridim you will return back to the Syabrubesi by following Bhote Kosi river and passing through the paddy and corn field. Overnight at Syabrubesi.


Day 9 : Drive Back Kathmandu/1300m

This day will be your final day, early in the morning after having breakfast, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu with the memory of the amazing day before. After you will reach the hotel in Kathmandu, you will have some rest and in the evening you will meet the leader of Nepal Planet trek for your trek review.


Day 10 : Final Destination.

This is the time to say goodbye and your final departure. Where you will leave all the beautiful moments and natural scenarios of the tour. A representative will help you to depart towards your final destination.
